TROY - A media availability with former congresswoman and U.S. Ambassador Connie Morella, who is serving as Troy University's Ambassador-in-Residence this spring, will be at 3:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 6 in the Math and Science Complex on the Troy Campus.

The availability, which will be held in the lobby area inside the main entrance of the Math and Science Complex, will precede her public lecture, "A Political and Personal Journey through Minefields and Milestones - in Heels," scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in room 114.

Morella served as U.S. ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris from 2003 to 2007, after having represented Maryland's 8th district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1987 to 2003. While in Congress, Morella, a Republican, successfully initiated legislation addressing domestic violence and child support, as well as programs for the elderly, environmental protection, health care reform, and human rights issues.

During her week at TROY, the ambassador has toured the Rosa Parks Museum on the University's Montgomery Campus, participated in panel discussions with TROY faculty and lectured to political science and international relations students.
