Dr. Neil Billington
Associate Professor of Biology
Associate Professor of Biology Neil Billington, a native of Manchester, England, joined the Troy University Department of Biology and Environmental Sciences in 2000.
A chartered biologist, Dr. Billington holds a bachelor’s of science degree in animal and plant ecology and a Ph.D. in aquatic ecology from Loughborough University of Technology in England and much of his academic research has been connected to genetic research of freshwater fish species such as the walleye, sauger and saugeye.
Prior to joining the faculty at TROY, Dr. Billington served on the faculties of Shippensburg University, University of Maine at Machias, Southern Illinois University, University of Guelph (Canada), University of Windsor (Canada) and Loughborough University. In addition, he as been an ecological geneticist for Aquagenet, Inc. of Carbondale, Ill. and assistant director of the Cooperative Fisheries Research Laboratory in Carbondale, Ill.
