Dr. Glenn Milton Cohen
Chair, Department of Biological Sciences
Dr. Glenn Cohen is chair of the Department of Biological Sciences. He joined the University in 1998 from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla., where he served as associate department head and graduate coordinator of Biological Sciences. He had served on the Florida Institute of Technology faculty since 1972 and previously served as an assistant research scientist at New York University Medical School.
Cohen’s academic concentrations include biology, anatomy and physiology, embryology and cell biology.
Cohen is a member of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology, the Microscopy Society of America, the American Society of Gravitational and Space Biology, the Southeastern Microscopy Society, the American Diabetes Association, Sigma Xi and the Southeastern Branch of the American Society for Microbiology. He has had numerous articles and papers published and received several research grants, including funding from the Alabama Department of Public Health and the National Institute of Environmental Health.
Cohen received his bachelor’s degree in zoology from Rutgers University and received his Ph.D. in physiology from Florida State University.
