Dr. Hal W. Fulmer
Assistant Provost
Dean of Undergraduate Studies
Dr. Hal Fulmer is a Florida native who grew up in Albany, Georgia, where he graduated from then-Albany Junior College (now Darton College) in 1979 earning an Associate degree in Journalism. He was named Dean of the College of Communications and Fine Arts in August 2002 at Troy University. He served as Interim Associate Provost for Troy University at Troy from January to August 2004 and then named Associate Provost following a national search.
Dr. Fulmer earned his Bachelor's degree in Communication Arts/Public Relations from Georgia Southern in 1981 and his Master’s Degree in Speech Communication in 1982 from the University of Georgia. He also earned his Ph.D. in Rhetorical Theory and Criticism from Louisiana State University in 1985.
Dr. Fulmer has co-authored a workbook on public relations and co-authored more than 100 articles, conference presentations, chapters and reviews. He has also presented more than 500 workshops, lectures and speeches on a variety of communication topics. His most recent work includes co-authoring a book on success industries which is scheduled to be published by the University of Wisconsin Press. |
