Dr. Robert T. Kitahara
Assistant Professor of Business

Dr. Robert T. Kitahara is assistant professor of business at Troy University, a position he has held since 2004.  He earned a doctorate in philosophy in electrical engineering at Purdue University, a master of science in systems management and master of business administration at Florida Institute of Technology.

Prior to Kitahara’s association with the University, he served as program manager for Lockheed Martin Vought Systems in Dallas, Texas and manager for Gilbarco Inc. in Greensboro, North Carolina.  His professional experiences include serving as an instructor at the University of West Florida and adjunct professor at Guilford Technological Community College, Florida Institute of Technology, Crummer Scholl of Management and Valencia Community College. 

Dr. Kitihara also speaks to civic and community groups on a wide variety of topics, including good customer service practices, artificial intelligence, the stem-cell research controversy, a humorous look at the history of tools and  “classic college pranks.”
