Dr. John A. Kline
Director, Institute for Leadership Development
Dr. John Kline was originally a self-employed farmer from Iowa who has mastered a variety of fields. He received his B.S. in English and Speech Education from Iowa State University in 1967, received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Speech Communication from the University of Iowa in 1968 and 1970. He currently serves as Director of the Institute for Leadership Development, Troy University.
He served for 25 years on the faculty of Air University, including 10 years as provost. Over one million copies of his textbooks on communication are used throughout the Air Force and Department of Defense. He is also a self-employed speaker and writer. He recently completed two books for Prentice Hall, Listening Effectively: Achieving High Standards in Communication, and Speaking Effectively: Achieving Excellence in Presentations.
Dr. Kline has also published a number of books, chapters, professional publications, presented numerous professional papers, as well as receiving multiple awards for achievement and community involvement. He is also greatly involved in several professional organizations, his local church, service clubs, and community service organizations such as the United Way, the Montgomery Rotary Club, and the Lions Club. |
