Dr. Lorraine K. Magrath
Assistant Professor of Accounting
Dr. Lorraine K. Magrath is assistant professor of accounting in Troy University’s Sorrell College of Business on the Troy Campus. Her teaching interests include accounting information systems, managerial accounting and financial accounting.
She earned her doctoral degree from the University of Alabama and completed a bachelor of science degree and computer science and a master of business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Prior to joining the University, she was U.S. controller for the Loewen Group International, an internal auditor for Great Southern Mercantile and controller of Coast Lumber and Building Supply. Her research efforts include the effects of task characteristics on decision making in organizations; using accounting information systems for decision making; and the behavioral implications of accounting technologies. She has also consulted with several private-sector companies in accounting information and computer technology.
