Dr. Ben P. Robertson
Assistant Professor of English
Dr. Ben P. Robertson is an assistant professor of English. He joined the University in 2003 from the University of Tulsa where he served as writing program coordinator and an instructor.
He received his bachelor’s degree in English from Henderson State University in 1995, his master’s in English language and literature from the University of Central Arkansas in 1998 and his doctorate from the University of Tulsa in 2003.
Robertson’s academic concentrations are composition, technical writing and undergraduate and graduate literature. He has done extensive research in British Romantic fiction, poetry and drama; American Romantic fiction; Victorian literature; 20th century British/Irish literature; 20th century American literature; modernism in Britain and America; cultural studies; colonial American literature; religion in literature; composition; gender studies; literature and film; literature and art; literature and popular culture; and, computer-assisted instruction.
A 2005 Folger Fellowship recipient, Robertson speaks two foreign languages – French and Spanish.
He is a member of the Modern Language Association, the North American Society for the Study of Romanticism, the Keats-Shelley Association, the Byron Society of America, the South Central Modern Language Association, the South Atlantic Modern Language Association, the American Name Society, the British Association for Romantic Studies, the Association of the Interdisciplinary Study of the Arts, the Alabama College English Teachers Association, and the Conference on Christianity and Literature. |
