Dr. Patrick A. Rossi
Associate Professor of Mathematics
Dr. Patrick A. Rossi is associate professor of mathematics at Troy University. He joined the University’s faculty as an assistant professor in 1993.
He earned a doctorate degree in mathematics from Auburn University, and completed both a master of science and bachelor of science degree at the University of Rhode Island. He holds an associate of science in electrical engineering technology from Three Rivers Community Technical College in Norwich, Conn.
From 1992 until 1997, Dr. Rossi served as organizer, host and researcher for Prep Bowl, a TV show and academic tournament hosted at Troy University for more than 30 high schools from Southeast Alabama and Georgia. In 1997, he created questions for, and typeset, the New Math Placement Examination and has served as a judge for the Annual Southeast Regional Science Olympiad and other contests.
Twice a finalist for the University’s Ingall’s Award – the University’s excellence in teaching award, Dr. Rossi has served as an instructor in computer science and a graduate teaching assistant at Auburn University and as an instructor at Central New England College.
He serves at managing editor of the Alabama Journal of Mathematics and is a past president of the Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics, currently serving on that organization’s executive board. |
