Dr. Amy L. Spurlock
Associate Professor of Nursing

Dr. Amy L. Spurlock is an associate professor in the School of Nursing. She joined the University in 2003 from the University of Kentucky where she served as a clinical instructor.

Spurlock earned her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University, her master’s from the University of Virginia and her doctorate from the University of Kentucky. Her academic concentrations are public health, public health clinical, undergraduate research, master’s level statistics and research methodology and comprehensive exam preparation.

She previously served as a research assistant at the University of Kentucky, a nursing instructor at both Boise State and South Dakota State universities, a nurse consultant at Rushmore Nursing Services in Rapid City, S.D., a case manager at Norrell/Kimberly Quality Care in Roanoke, Va. and a staff registered nurse at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

An Alabama Registered Nurse, Spurlock is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau, Mu Gamma, Delta Psi and Iota Theta Chapters, the American Nurses Association and the Southern Nursing Research Society. She is also a member of the fundraising and grant writing committees for the Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center in Troy, Ala.
