Dr. Steven L. Taylor
Associate Professor of Political Science
Dr. Steven L. Taylor is an associate professor of political science. He has been a member of the Troy University faculty since 1998.
Taylor holds a doctorate degree in government form the University of Texas. Fluent in Spanish, Taylor has served as a visiting professor and researcher at the University of the Andes in Santafe de Bogota, Columbia. He also has served as a visiting lecturer for the Institute of Latin American Studies at the University of Texas, an instructor at Austin Community College and Concordia Lutheran College.
Taylor’s academic concentrations are American national government, Colombia in world affairs, comparative government, public administration, public policy, contemporary political thought, government and politics of developing nations, Inter-American relations, Latin America in world affairs, Latin American politics, public policy-making and U.S. government.
He has served as a contributing editor on Colombia, Handbook of Latin American Studies, and associate editor of Politics and Policy. Taylor is immediate past president of the Alabama Political Science Association and a member of the Latin American Studies and Southern Political Science.
