Virginia M. Zingara
Instructor of Music

Virginia M. Zingara is a part-time instructor in music at Troy University, a position she’s held since 2001, and has guest conducted the University’s Wind Ensemble and Trumpet Ensemble. She currently teaches music theory and music for individual development.

She earned her master of music education degree at Troy University in 2001, and completed a bachelor of science in education degree, cum laude, in 1985. Her experience includes serving as director of bands on the high school or middle school level in six different secondary systems in Alabama in Georgia for 16 years, and more than 20 years directing marching bands.

One of her bands was one of only 16 selected from the United States to perform in the Lord Mayor’s Millennium Parade in London. Ms. Zingara is also a recipient of the Sudler Flag of Honor from the John Philip Sousa Foundation for outstanding achievement in music education.
