Dr. Anthony Dixon | Interim Chair and Associate Professor

Dr. Anthony Dixon earned his doctoral degree from Clemson University in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management with an emphasis in sport, tourism, and economic development and his Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in strategic management and marketing from East Carolina University. He received his bachelor's degree in finance from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Dr. Dixon has served as a consultant for the Cabell County Conventions and Visitors Bureau in Huntington, W.Va., Williamsburg County in South Carolina, the Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Planning and Development Department, the Rock Hill (S.C.) Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism and the Center for International Business and Economic Development at Troy University.
At TROY, Dr. Dixon teaches sport finance, event management, research methods, and entrepreneurship and has presented at numerous conferences including the World Research Summit for Tourism and Hospitality, the North American Society of Sport Management conference and the Sport Marketing Association conference. His research has been published in scholarly journals such as the Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics, Journal of Travel Research, Ocean and Coastal Management and the Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport.
