Clif Lusk
University Relations Coordinator
Clif Lusk is a Mississippi native with 20 years of journalism experience.
Prior to joining the University Relations staff, he was editor of the five-day daily The Demopolis Times. His original draw to Troy was as managing editor of the daily newspaper, The Messenger, a sister newspaper to The Times. He formerly published the South Mississippi SportsJournal, served as an assistant metro editor of The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss., and was assistant publisher for The Magee Courier, Simpson County News and Southwest Rankin Times, based in Magee, Miss. He began his newspaper career at The Columbian-Progress in Columbia, Miss.
Although Lusk has spent much of his professional career in the community newspaper business, he has also served in the public sector. His work experience also includes serving as public relations director for the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and director of information for the Mississippi Association of Supervisors, the state's non-profit county government organization.
He holds bachelor's degrees from the University of Mississippi in journalism and political science. His wife, Buffy, is a counselor at Goshen High School. The Lusks have four children, Clifton, Caitie, Mary Lacy and May Morgan and attend First Baptist Church in Troy. |
