February 2015

Troy University School of Nursing faculty recently partnered with the faculty and staff from the College of Education to offer training sessions. Drs. Wade Forehand, Shellye Vardaman, and Kerri Outlaw from the School of Nursing provided three training sessions titled, “Good Samaritan Training” for the College of Education. Topics for the training included layperson CPR and epilepsy education. As part of the training session BSN senior students participated in each of the sessions. The senior nursing students are currently enrolled in NSG 4405 Public Health Nursing. As part of their practicum experience students led each of the training sessions, provided hands-on demonstration, and assisted with evaluating CPR skills of the participants. The School of Nursing would like to thank the College of Education for their assistance in making this a great learning experience for our nursing students.
