American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is the nation’s leading cancer advocacy organization that is working every day to encourage elected officials and candidates to make cancer a top priority. As the nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society, ACS CAN supports evidence-based solutions designed to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. ACS CAN gives ordinary people extraordinary power to fight cancer with the training and tools they need to make their voices heard.

Carlos Adams, a Troy DNP student, serves as an ACS CAN advocate. In his role, he assists cancer patients and their families by making cancer a top priority for lawmakers at the federal, state, and local level. These duties consist of educating local senators, members of the House of Representatives and their staff members on the top health issues that consist of lung cancer, colorectal cancer to include prostate cancer, breast & cervical cancer.
