Volunteer Opportunities

Troy University is a Partner on the River, and giving back to the communities of Phenix City, Alabama, and Columbus, Georgia, is our goal. Below you will find outreach programs and events we are participating in. We would love to have your help as a volunteer!

Fall Festivals

This fall, W.C. Bradley, Parks & Recreation, Economic Development, Troy University, Courtyard Marriott, WhiteWater Express and the Chattahoochee Brewing Company will be partnering to collaborate in generating four fall festivals. These festivals are to celebrate the completion of the 3rd Avenue streetscape and the growth and development of the Phenix City Riverfront. Volunteer assistance is needed to help with production, setup and tear down, and willing hands are needed to help with activities such as check in, customer service, alcohol tent ID check, Kid Zone children assistance, etc. Festivities will vary at each festival, but overall, activities will include drone races, bouncy houses, DJs, bands, food trucks, a laser light show and much more! We are looking forward to having some great community fun! Please contact Brittany for more information at bzimdahl@troy.edu.

Reading Program

Troy University has partnered with two schools in the Phenix City, Alabama, community to provide readers to share stories with local children on Thursday mornings. This program is designed to encourage interest and showcase the benefits of how reading can be an enriching and, best of all, fun activity! We are always looking for more readers to help with this program. Please contact Katelyn for more information at kkilpatr@troy.edu.
