We are very happy to announce that the application of our 2015 TROY-STARTALK Student Chinese Language Summer Program has started. It is a government initiative to encourage Americans to learn critical languages. This is the fifth year we offer this program. All the teachers have more than 20 years of teaching experience. More information about this year’s application is as follows.

STARTALK is a government initiative to increase the number of Americans learning critical needs languages. The STARTALK program pays tuition for high school students to learn Chinese language and culture at Troy University during the summer time.
The National Foreign Language Centre at the University of Maryland has awarded the STARTALK grant to select schools across the nation, including many key universities.
High school students (including incoming 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders, as well as newly graduated high school students) learn communicative ability as well as cultural awareness from experienced native language teachers at Troy University's lively, task-based classes.
One of STARTALK’s benefits is that there is no cost other than a refundable $50.00 application fee. Successful STARTALK students receive three college credits for adult education from Troy University and are prepared to enter the next level of language instruction during the fall semester. The admissions process is selective.
