Pi Sigma Alpha

Purpose: On March 15, 2001, Troy University chartered the Omega Theta Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society. Pi Sigma Aloha has a long history. It was founded in 1920 at the University of Texas for the purpose of bringing together students and faculty “to stimulate scholarship and intelligent interest in political science.” Today, there are over 460 chapters throughout the country. There is at least one college or university with a PSA chapter in every state and the District of Columbia, including nine other chapters in the state of Alabama. Pi Sigma Alpha is a member if the Association of College Honor Societies. To be eligible for induction into the Omega Theta Chapter, students must have completed a minimum of three political science courses, have at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average, and a 3.5 average for all political science courses taken.
