TROY’s Rehabilitation Program, located in the Department of Human Services, Rehabilitation, and Social Work, focuses on training students to help people who have congenital or acquired disabilities achieve their personal, career, and independent living goals through an assessment and assistance process. Our undergraduate degree prepares you for an entry level position in a variety of settings including: rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, universities, schools, government agencies and insurance companies where people are being helped to recover from a disability. Located in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion, the Health Education program offers students the opportunity to learn how to plan, implement, and evaluate programs related to health organizations and/or health education. The curriculum engages students in discussions about a number of current health-related issues relevant to the community, state, and nation. Upon completion of the degree, including an internship, students will be eligible for teacher certification in Health Education (grades 6-12). Troy University’s SFM undergraduate program is one of the first three programs to be accredited by the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA).  Located in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion, the Sport and Fitness Management program is designed to provide students with knowledge, skills, and attitudes to successfully engage in the practice of management in a variety of sport settings. The total experience within the Sport and Fitness Management program prepares students by providing an exceptional fundamental education through service learning experiences and exposure to local, national and international sport-related industries. The goal of the program is to create an integrated academic learning environment for analyzing and resolving the challenges in the business of sport-related industries. The School of Nursing boasts a totally online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree as well as 100% placement. Graduates in Health Education and Physical Education have been selected as teacher of the year at the state, regional, and national levels as well as pursuing advanced degrees. A significant number of students who have graduated from the Department of Athletic Training have found employment at all levels of sport ranging from high schools to Division I programs and the professional teams. Graduates from the Department of Human Services, Rehabilitation, and Social Work have attained positions not only on a state level but also on a national and international basis.

While the Physical Education major stresses teaching, students are also provided a firm scientific foundation in all areas of exercise science. Students are prepared to enter the workforce through hands-on involvement at various clinical opportunities.
