Prior to Commencement:

  • The San Antonio Office must be notified of your intention to participate in the ceremony by June 8, 2012. Please e-mail lgarza96658@troy.edu or call 210-495-0547. Only students who have completed all graduation requirements by the end of Term 4 may participate.
  • Proper regalia is required for ceremony participation and must be ordered through the Troy bookstore. Choose the "Bookstore" link from the drop-down menu on the Troy Campus page of the Troy Website. Choose the "Announcements" link in the Store Information section at the bottom of the page and click on "Cap and Gown Order Form". Pricing and deadline information can be found there. In addition to the ordering methods mentioned, you may also call the bookstore directly at 334-670-3223 and pay with a credit card.
  • Honor Cords - Honor cords are only available to undergraduate candidates. Cords are available for purchase from the book store. Society membership chords are not worn.


Day of Commencement:

  • Rehearsal will be held at 10:00 A.M. Attendance is required.
  • All participants need to arrive thirty minutes prior to the start of the ceremony to check in.
  • The dressing room will not be secured during the ceremony. Please make other arrangements for your valuables.
  • Masters candidates, do not wear your hood to the facilities, you will be hooded during the ceremony.
  • All children must remain under the supervision of an adult at all times.
  • Please dress appropriately. Women should wear dark shoes and men should wear slacks and dark shoes.

Prior to Commencement:

  • Notification letters will be sent out early in 2012 containing all pertinent information.
  • The site office must be notified of your intention to participate no later than April 10, 2012. You can call 406-727-5451 or email montana@troy.edu. Only students who have completed all requirements for graduation by the end of Term 4 may participate.
  • Proper regalia is required for participation and must be ordered through the TROY bookstore. See the website for links. Please iron your regalia before the ceremony.
  • Honor Cords - Honor cords are only available to undergraduate candidates. Cords available for purchase from the bookstore.
  • Military students are responsible for getting their guests on base. Civilian students will need to coordinate with the local office for base access for themselves and guests.


Day of Commencement:

  • Rehearsal will be held at 9:00am and you must attend to participate.
  • All participants need to return 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony for photographs. The dressing area/restrooms will not be secured during the ceremony. Please make other arrangements for your valuables.
  • Please dress appropriately. Women should wear dark dress/skirt/slacks and shoes, and men should wear dark slacks and dark shoes. Military students may wear any combination dress uniform, but it is not mandatory. Please do not wear flowers or other accessories on your regalia.

Please note that we do not hold a ceremony for summer graduation. If you graduate in the summer, you may participate in the fall ceremony.

Prior to Commencement:

  • Attend Commencement Central. If you do not attend Commencement Central, you must contact the Registrar's Office for alternate instructions.
  • Submit a Diploma Information Form to the Records Office.
  • Honor Cords may be worn by members of on-campus honor organizations only. Check with your advisor on how to obtain cords.


Day of Commencement:

  • All graduation requirements must be met in order to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
  • Arrive at the Dothan Civic Center by 2:15 p.m.
  • Professional pictures will be made from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Come dressed in Commencement regalia.
  • Master's candidates will be hooded during the ceremony.

Prior to Commencement:

  • The Undergraduate & Graduate Records Offices must be notified if you plan to attend the commencement ceremony. If you are a student from another campus and would like to participate in our commencement please contact the Student Services Office at 334-241-9533.
  • Cap and Gown Order - You must order your cap and gown from the Bookstore or online at www.Balfour.com.
  • Honor Cords – Only Undergraduate Students are eligible for honor cords. Cords are provided at graduation. Please Note: Both undergraduate and graduate students are able to wear any cords that are earned through membership in various societies.


Day of Commencement:

  • You will not be able to participate if you have not met all the requirements for graduation. -You will not be able to participate if you have not notified the Undergraduate or Graduate Records Offices of your intent.
  • All participants need to arrive at 6:00pm.
  • Please do not bring purses, cameras, or cell phones. The dressing room will not be secured during the ceremony so please make other arrangements for your valuables.
  • Hairpins / bobby pins will be provided to secure mortarboards.
  • Masters candidates, do not wear your hood to the facilities, you will be hooded during the ceremony.
  • All children must remain under the supervision of an adult at all times.
  • Please dress appropriately. Women should wear dark shoes and men should wear slacks and dark shoes.
  • Dressing area is for the graduating students only. No children, spouses, etc. allowed.
  • After Commencement Diplomas will be mailed to those students who do not participate.

  • The Academic Records Office must be notified if you plan to attend the commencement ceremony. If you are a student from another campus and would like to participate in our commencement please contact the Phenix City Records Office at 334-448-5109.
  • Cap and Gown Voucher - You must pick-up your cap and gown voucher from the student services office in Adams Administration building in order to purchase your cap and gown. This is one way to ensure that the records office will know that you are planning to participate in the ceremony.
  • Honor Cords - Honor cords are only available to undergraduate candidates. Cords available for purchase from the book store. Please Note: Both undergraduate and graduate students are able to wear any cords that are available to them through membership in various societies. If you are a member of a society, you are welcome to wear your cords with your cap and gown.
