Message from the Director

The Accounting Program offered through the School of Accountancy within the Sorrell College of Business is designed to afford students the opportunities to obtain a high level of proficiency in accounting and to qualify for the uniform CPA Examination. Routinely ranked among the highest in terms of CPA exam pass rates, our graduates are heavily recruited by national, regional and local CPA firms. The success of our graduates has enabled the Sorrell College of Business to foster relationships with CPA firms throughout the United States. These relationships have resulted in extremely high placement rates for our graduates year after year. The alliances with the CPA firms continue to grow through the establishment of the Accounting Advisory Council that is comprised of partners from national, regional and local CPA firms. Periodic meetings of the Council and faculty representatives maintain the line of communication between the academic and public accounting worlds to ensure that our students receive a state-of-the-art accounting education and that they are rewarded with top job opportunities.

Manuel H. Johnson Center for Political Economy

The Manuel H. Johnson Center for Political Economy at Troy University provides a dynamic and rigorous education program focused on the moral imperatives of free markets and individual liberty, as well as relevant policy research on current and local issues.

Comprised of scholars and students who believe that free societies are better societies, the Johnson Center is run according to that creed. Just as we promote the free exchange of ideas in the larger society, so we defend academic freedom and expect scholarly innovation, excellence, and integrity within our own ranks.
