Interested in a well-rounded education in sound business principles, including Economics, International Business, International Economic Development, or Small Business and Entrepreneurship? A degree in General Business will open up the world of business for you. Whether you plan to start your career after graduation or continue with graduate studies, you’ll gain insight into the best practices of corporations and the key components of successful management.

Students graduating from Troy University with a degree in General Business typically find themselves employed in business, government, the U.S. military, and not-for-profit organizations, both in the United States and the world over.  Many are  self employed. Undergraduate students are prepared for admission to graduate programs related to business, information systems, and professional schools of law. Students who graduate with a degree in General Business possess the knowledge and skills needed to communicate effectively, to make ethical and socially-responsible decisions, and to understand diverse and international cultures, as they relate to most business environments.  Students don't just learn theoretical material either. Because our faculty members have extensive “real-world” experience, course instruction focuses not only on vital concepts, but also on practical application of these concepts.

The General Business curriculum is designed to assist students in developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to understand and cope with the challenges faced by business and organizational leaders in a dynamic, global workplace. It is highly germane to both the needs of students and of their prospective employers. Combining the relevance of the curriculum with the fact that our faculty holds students to a high standard throughout their academic experience at Troy has resulted in a program designed to provide a firm foundation for professional business leaders who, upon graduation, will have the skills necessary to embark on, or change course in, successful careers in business, industry, and government.
