On Feb. 24, 2012, Troy University will reach a historic milestone—125 years of excellence in teaching and service to students in Alabama, across the U.S. and around the world. Founded in 1887 with a mission of providing training to future teachers, TROY has grown into a global institution that provides higher education to nearly 30,000 students at four campuses in Alabama and numerous worldwide teaching sites. Yet, although TROY’s reach has grown, its mission remains the same as that expressed in the school’s founding charter: “educate the mind to think, the heart to feel and the body to act.”
This webpage is the center of TROY’s 125th anniversary celebration. The interactive timeline below is your guide to the University’s growth and development. Just click on a button above the year to begin your journey through TROY’s history.
The “Share Your Story” section is a community hub where Trojan fans can share their favorite memories of TROY. Visitors can submit stories, photos and videos about TROY, as well as read and view galleries of submissions from others.
