On September 18, 2011, I was honored to be crowned as Miss Troy University 2012. I have held numerous titles in the past, but no title has been of such value to me as the one that I currently hold. After being accepted to Troy University, I knew I wanted to become Miss TROY before I graduated. Being crowned has been a dream come true.

By serving as Miss Troy University, I have the privilege to represent the university as a whole. With this being said, I am representing the faculty and staff of the university, my friends, my sisters, and Troy University students worldwide. I am honored and privileged to represent such an incredible university that I know and love.

Since being crowned as Miss Troy University, I have worked to promote my platform "Volunteerism: Giving the Gift of Time" and to give through service in any way that I can on campus and in the community. Volunteering is a cause that I am extremely passionate about, because I believe we are not on this earth to only receive but to give as well. I am the young woman I am today because of those who have so freely given and invested in my life.

I hope to inspire students of all ages to give back through the abilities and talents that the Lord has blessed them with. The student body has welcomed me with open arms, and the support that I continuously receive from the university is such a blessing. I have volunteered at events such as the Memorial Dinner for World War II Veterans, participated in numerous Homecoming events, appeared on Trojan Vision, and have had numerous speaking engagements.

Unfortunately, I will only serve as Miss Troy University for one year, so I plan to make the most of that time. I will be competing in the Miss Alabama Pageant in June at Samford University in Birmingham, and I promise to represent Troy University well.

I've never been more proud to be a Trojan.
