Organizational Sketch: Beginning in April 2004, Troy State University Dothan (now Troy University Dothan Campus) History Department began initiating students into Phi Alpha Theta, the Honor Society for History.
By 2007 Dothan was cooperating with the Troy University Iota Mu chapter as its "Dothan Unit."
Although unofficial, the unit advisor has been Dr. Marty Olliff. As of April 2014, the unit has initiated 69 members.
Scope / Content: Contains initiation applications, programs for yearly initiation ceremonies, files concerning Dothan's hosting of the Alabama Regional Meeting in 2012, and copies of The Alexandrian, the Troy University History Department journal which has published many Phi Alpha Theta members' papers.
Organization: Organized into three series: Initiation files (arranged by year); Regional Meeting file; and Alexandrian (arranged by year).
