Media Advisory: Cambodian Minister of Education visits TROY

Oct. 3: Dr. Kol Pheng, Senior Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports; Chairman, Board of Trustees, Pannasastra University of Cambodia, will visit Troy University in Troy and in Montgomery on Oct. 3. He is the highest-ranking foreign education official to the Troy Campus.

Dr. Kol Pheng will be available for interview at the following times and locations:

Troy Campus - General Academic Building 3rd Floor    10:40 a.m.
Montgomery Campus – Rosa Parks Library and Museum    1:45 p.m.

While on the Troy Campus, Dr. Pheng will meet with Chancellor Jack Hawkins Jr., tour the campus and be briefed by senior academic leadership. He will also attend a luncheon with the Faculty Council.

Following the luncheon, he will depart for the Montgomery Campus where he will receive an overview of the Rosa Parks Library and Museum followed by a meeting with ADO Director Neal Wade, State Superintendent of Education Dr. Joe Morton, Sen. Wendell Mitchell and Rep. Alan Boothe.

Traveling with Dr. Kol Pheng, who earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Missouri at Columbia, is Prof. Rotana Kieng, vice president of Pannasastra University of Cambodia.
