DOTHAN – The Troy University College of Education invites prospective students to attend an open house Saturday, March 1 on the Dothan Campus. The event, which is designed to share information on undergraduate teacher education and psychology programs, will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. in Sony Hall, which is located in the Library/Technology Building.
During the open house, TROY faculty and staff will provide information on the application process, program requirements, projected course schedules and financial aid. Campus tours will also be conducted, and participants will have an opportunity to meet with faculty advisors.
On the Dothan Campus, the College of Education offers bachelor’s degrees in early childhood and elementary education, along with collaborative teacher (K-6) and psychology. Secondary education degrees with concentrations in biology, chemistry, general science, history, English/language arts, math and social science are also available
A number of master’s degrees are offered. The College of Education will host a second open house in April to share information about those programs.
Dr. Robin Bynum, associate dean of the College of Education, encourages those with a love for children and a passion for learning to consider the teaching profession.
“It is a rewarding career,” Dr. Bynum said. “Most rewarding is watching your students’ progress. It is amazing when you see them apply the concepts you are teaching.”
