DOTHAN—Faculty and staff at Troy University’s Dothan Campus presented more than 100 new toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program on Monday, Dec. 15.
It was the second year Dothan faculty and staff have participated in Toys for Tots, and the amount of toys contributed exceeded last year’s total, said Sandra Sauls, a TROY counselor who coordinated the toy drive.
Approximately 112 new toys were presented to representatives of the local Marine Corps League. Last year, the campus contributed 79 toys.
Dothan Toys for Tots coordinator Mike Walton said the Marine Corps League will provide Christmas gifts for about 1,300 children this year from more than 600 families in the Wiregrass area.
