TROY, Ala. – Troy University honored alumnus and New Orleans businessman Randall W. Moore on Saturday with the University’s Distinguished Leadership Award.
The Distinguished Leadership Award was created to recognize the achievements of TROY alumni and friends who have distinguished themselves through exemplary work, philanthropy, leadership and service to their profession, community and alma mater.
Moore, a 1978 graduate, received the award from Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., during the University’s annual Alumni Reunion Dinner in the Trojan Center Ballrooms on the Troy Campus.
In presenting the award, Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor of Troy University, called Moore a “model alumnus.”
“Randall Moore is one of Troy University’s best ambassadors,” Dr. Hawkins said. “He looks for every opportunity to tell others about his alma mater.”
Moore said Saturday night that he was honored to accept the award and he is pleased with the growth and progress being made by Troy University. An honors graduate in accounting, Moore completed his bachelor’s degree in three years. He paid tribute to the “outstanding” members of the faculty of the Sorrell College of Business, including Dr. Tom Ratcliffe, former Dean of the College of Business and Director of the School of Accountancy.
Moore is chairman and chief executive officer of ETI, Inc., one of the largest locally owned staffing firms in New Orleans, and ETI Realty, a real estate firm that owns and manages property in the New Orleans area.
In addition to serving on the Troy University Foundation Board, Moore is chairman of the Louisiana Economic Development Board and is treasurer of the Coalition of Urban Business Enterprises. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Board of Certified Public Accountants in both Alabama and Louisiana. Moore was honored by TROY in 2003 as an Alumni of the Year Award winner.
