COVINGTON—Troy University’s Covington Site will hold commencement ceremonies at Eastridge Community Church at 6 p.m. on Dec. 17.
Degrees will be awarded to close to 70 graduates.
Kathryn Morgan, chairman of the Newton County Board of Commissioners, will be the commencement speaker.
Morgan is an alumna of Emory University and local business owner. She began her career in the banking industry as a joint venture officer with Decatur Federal, which later merged with First Union Bank. During her twelve years at Decatur, Morgan analyzed corporations that were not performing and helped to turn them around to become prosperous companies again.
After First Union merged with Wachovia, Morgan accepted an opportunity to change positions by becoming the commercial real estate officer for the community bank. That role allowed Morgan to facilitate economic development for the Georgia market and beyond.
