TROY - Troy University's Xi Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity will be holding its annual Homecoming step show, benefitting the American Cancer Society, on Saturday, Nov. 12, in the Claudia Crosby Theater at 7 p.m.

"The men of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity take pride in donating to many worthy causes throughout the year, but the annual Homecoming step show is always the largest platform to do so," said Terry Stephens, president of the Xi Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha. "The brothers of Alpha have realized the devastation and often spontaneous life changes caused by cancer in the community."

The 2011 step show, "The Gold Rush," will feature one chapter from each organization affiliated with the National Pan-Hellenic Council throughout the state.

Included in the show will be door prizes, entertainment and other surprises. Host to the event will be Jermaine "Funny Maine" Johnson of Tuscaloosa.

Event tickets will be on sale in the Trojan Center on the Troy Campus from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. from Nov. 1 through Nov. 3 for $10 and from Nov. 8 through Nov. 10 for $15. Last-chance tickets will be sold on Nov. 12 at the ticket window in Claudia Crosby Theater from noon to 3 p.m. No tickets will be sold at the door on the night of the event.
