DOTHAN - Troy University is partnering with the City of Dothan to conduct a community survey looking at various quality of life issues in Dothan.
Troy University sociology professors Dr. Jeneve Brooks and Dr. Christopher Bradley are working with the City of Dothan, the Dothan Police Department and the Dothan Community Relations Group on this research project, a comprehensive community survey that will focus on Dothan residents' perceptions of quality of life, race relations in the Dothan community and community policing by the Dothan Police Department.
The survey is in its initial development phase and will be distributed by mail to Dothan residents within the next few months.
"This survey will provide city officials with a better understanding of how Dothan residents perceive the general quality of life in the city, but also will give them an understanding of how residents view issues of race and policing in the community," Brooks said.
The public is invited to an open forum on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m. to offer feedback concerning which specific topics should be addressed in the survey. The forum takes place in the Community Room of the Dothan Houston County Library System Main Library, located at 445 N. Oates St. in Dothan.
