MONTGOMERY - Troy University's Rosa Parks Museum will open a new exhibit featuring the artwork of local veterans with a reception on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. in the museum's gallery.
The artwork featured in the exhibit has been created by local veterans, who, over the last seven weeks, have worked with local artist Mark Montoya to discover the healing properties provided through artwork. Montoya, a Montgomery native, is a decorative painter and landscape designer, who also is an active volunteer in the community.
The show will officially open on Veterans Day on Friday, and can be viewed free of charge during normal operating hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The exhibit will be on display through the first week of January.
