Jan. 27, 3 p.m.: The official dedication of Troy University’s new College of Education building, named in honor of Chancellor Jack Hawkins, Jr. will begin at 3 p.m. Gov. Bob Riley will deliver the dedicatory address.
Jack Hawkins, Jr., Hall is the first College of Education building to completely house all faculty and classes within the College, to be constructed on a university campus in Alabama since 1969. Troy’s last solely dedicated College of Education building, McCartha Hall, was constructed in 1949.

Following the exit of the stage party at the conclusion of the ceremony, media wishing to conduct one-on-ones with principal parties will be escorted to the third floor conference room. The window on this opportunity is 15 minutes.
