TROY – A Troy University alumna has been named to serve as the University’s chief accountant.
Tara Donaldson, who earned a Master’s of Business Administration and her bachelor’s degree in business administration at TROY, began her duties as controller on Nov. 1. She had previously served as associate dean of business operations and treasurer at Central Alabama Community College and as director of accounting.
From 1999-2003, she was employed by Price Waterhouse Coopers, LLP, as an assurance and business advisory services senior associate – a job she landed after completing two internships with the firm through the Sorrell College of Business.
“One of the most important things we do is hire good people,” said Jim Bookout, senior vice chancellor for finance and business affairs. “Tara brings to the University a strong work ethic, excellent professional character and a focus on service. These attributes, complemented by her academic strength and high caliber of experience, will serve the University well and add tremendous value to the Controller’s Office.”
At TROY, Donaldson will direct a staff of 22, and her functional responsibilities will include sponsored program accounting, accounts payable, financial reporting, debt service, audit liaison, general accounting office service areas and indirectly as counsel for ancillary financial related functions.
