TROY—Troy University will play host to sport management scholars, students and practitioners from throughout the southeastern United States this week at the 7th Annual Southern Sport Management Conference.
The conference, held Wednesday through Friday in the Stadium Tower, features both professional and academic presentations on industry trends and issues.
“The Southern Sport Management Conference should be an excellent event this year for both students and practitioners around the southeast region,” said conference co-director Dr. J. Michael Martinez. “In addition to honoring two well-respected figures in the academic field of sport management, we are excited for the growth that our conference has experienced in the past few years.”
The organization will recognize Dr. Janet B. Parks of Bowling Green State University with the Lifetime Scholar’s Award, and inaugurates the Visionary in Sport Management Award by honoring Florida Sate University’s Dr. Dewayne Johnson.
