TROY – Montgomery resident Todd Mote has been named president of Troy University's Young Alumni Council.
Mote's appointment was approved last week by the TROY Alumni Association's Board of Directors. He will replace Decatur resident Carl Cole.
"We are pleased to have Todd lead our efforts to connect with and engage our young alumni," said Faith Ward, director of alumni affairs. "Todd has always demonstrated excellent leadership abilities, and he and his wife, Katy, have been very active alumni. I look forward to working with Todd to develop and implement new efforts to strengthen the participation of our younger alumni."
Formed in 2009, the Young Alumni Council works to better engage the University's alumni under the age of 35, and serves under the auspices of the Alumni Association's Board of Directors.
Mote received his bachelor's degree in business administration from TROY in 2002, and returned to earn his Master of Business Administration degree in 2003. He currently serves as a business banker for Regions Bank and resides in Montgomery with his wife, Katy, a 2002 TROY graduate.
Mote is an active member of the University's Montgomery Metro Alumni Chapter, serving as past president, vice present and a current board member. He is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Montgomery and Emerge Montgomery, and was a 2010 graduate of Emerge Torchbearers Leadership Class.
Mote said he views the opportunity to serve as a way of giving back to Troy University.
"I am so excited about becoming president of the Young Alumni Council," he said. "Over the years, Troy University has contributed so much to my life, and I am truly excited about being in a position to give back to our great University. I believe that these next few years could be some of the most exiting times ever for TROY, especially for Young Alumni. Our goal is to keep these young alumni connected to the TROY family, and by doing this, we can continue to grow our University to even greater levels."
