Comprehensive Exam Information
All Master of Science In International Relations degree seeking students who entered the program prior to academic year 2018-2019 catalog are required to pass a 6 hour comprehensive examination (there will be a lunch break at the 3 hour point). All students must register in advance for the comprehensive examination through their TROY site office. Testing times may vary at each site, contact the Program Coordinator at the site you will be taking the exam. The passing of the comprehensive exam is not to be considered a waiver of any other requirement for a master's degree in any program.
A $50 Comprehensive Examination Registration Fee will be charged each time a student registers for the Comprehensive Examination and is payable upon receipt of their invoice. If a student registers for the Comprehensive Examination and thus successfully passed the previous examination a full refund will be given. If the student cancels less than 30 days prior to the test date, a 50% ($25) cancellation fee will be assessed. EXCEPTION: If a student cancels due to a documented military requirement then a full refund will be given.
The fee for Late Registration (within the normal 30 day window) will be $25, in addition to the comprehensive examination registration fee.
