Dr. Daniel Sutter's primary research interests include the societal impacts of extreme weather and climate change, ideological biases in the academy and news media, and the impacts of public policies and regulations. His publications include "Different but Equal? On the Contributions of Dissident Economists," published in the American Journal of Economics and Sociology, "Do People Respond to Low Probability Risks? Evidence from Tornado Risk and Mobile Homes," co-authored with Marc Poitras and published in the Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, and "Can the Media be so Liberal? The Economics of Ideological Media Bias," Cato Journal, and "The Costs of Cooperation," co-authored Tyler Cowen and published in The Review of Austrian Economics.

Dr. John Dove's main areas of research include state and local public finance, public choice, and political economy. Dr. Stephen C. Miller received his Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University. He previously was an Associate Professor of Economics and the SACSCOC Director at Western Carolina University. Dr. Miller’s research on the economics of politics and individual beliefs has been published in several academic journals, including Public Choice, Intelligence, Critical Review, and Public Opinion Quarterly. He also regularly writes and speaks to public audiences on Alabama’s economic and fiscal challenges.

Dr. Malavika Nair

Dr. Malavika Nair received her PhD in Economics from Suffolk University. She taught at the College of Charleston, SC before joining Troy University and the Johnson Center in the Fall of 2013. Her research focuses on questions related to monetary theory, financial history, private enterprise in money production and financial services as well as the economics of caste. Her research is published in The Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of Business Ethics, The Independent Review, The Review of Austrian Economics, and the Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics
