Mission and Goal
Troy University's Continuing Education and Outreach, has partnered with the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, with support by the City of Montgomery and the Montgomery County Commission, and with in-kind support from Leadership Montgomery to present this necessary program. TROY has developed a Hospitality Academy for the greater Montgomery area.
The mission of the academy is to improve the hospitality service and customer experience of tourists and locals and provide service consistency within the hospitality industry. The goal is to increase the area's reputation as a friendly, knowledgeable, and service oriented destination; thus, creating a positive economic impact on the Montgomery area.
This initiative will provide professional development training for managers and staff.
Who Should Attend?
The Academy is targeted at managers and staff from hotels and other lodging, restaurants, bars, attractions and venues in Montgomery City and County. Anyone who serves the public in a hospitality role should consider attending. Good hospitality is what you make of it. The Montgomery Hospitality Academy will provide training on topics specific to the needs of the service provider.
Topics range from managing the customer service function to changing the establishment's culture to being customer focused to setting accountability measures for staff performance, among other management techniques needed in the hospitality industry. Other topics include responding to the tough customer, effective and critical interactions, managing the touch points of service, and solving the service dilemma.
Upon successful completion of the Academy, Troy Continuing Education and Outreach will issue a graduation certificate. The registration fee is $137 per person which includes four four-hour seminars plus materials for both staff and managers, and two additional four-hour seminars for managers.

All training will take place on the Troy University, Montgomery Campus, in the Rosa Parks Museum, room 327. Parking is available on campus.
Participants who successfully complete the academy will receive a certificate in a special ceremony. The graduation ceremony will be held in the Gold room in Whitley Hall.
