Phase One: CONNECTING With Strategic Leadership

Section 1 Understanding and Becoming a Strategic Leader

  • Knowing the difference between leadership, management and supervision
  • Understanding that leadership is a choice
  • Comprehend the five levels of leadership
  • Examining leadership characteristics
  • Exploring models of strategic leadership

Phase Two: ENGAGING As a Strategic Leader

Section 2: Visioning and Building a Culture of Leadership

  • Examining your workplace’s culture
  • Understanding the three fundamental principles of culture
  • Creating a shared vision and goals to move forward
  • Aligning personal vision with organizational vision
  • Maintaining unity while moving employees, coworkers, and vendors/suppliers forward
  • Using inspiration and innovation

Section 3:  Engaging Coworkers, Colleagues, and Partnerships 

  • Examining the importance and principles of engagement
  • Defining  the many methods of engaging leadership
  • Empowering employees and colleagues to create innovative services and high quality care
  • Understanding group dynamics

Phase Three: PARTNERING As a Strategic Leader

Section 4: Building Strategic Leadership

  • Overcoming the leadership challenges in today’s environment
  • Identifying the major challenges in building strategic leadership
  • Engaging in solution - oriented strategy and execution
  • Leading proactively

Section 5:  Leading Change and Maximizing Results

  • Examining the differences in the four types of change
  • Understanding the change models for use by leaders
  • Identifying the impact of change on the organization
  • Creating a change plan for the organization
  • Driving change and utilizing proactive change management skills for progress

Phase Four: LEADING As a Strategic Leader

Section 6:  Presenting your Leadership Strategy

  • Each class member will present their project to class members 
  • Projects will include Ideas, processes, and change plan with presentations skills critiqued
  • Identify important concepts for change within your organization

The Course hours are: 

Tuesday, April 59:00 am until 4:00 pm Refreshment breaks included.
Wednesday, April 69:00 am until 4:00 pm Refreshment breaks included.
Thursday, April 79:00 am until 12 noon Refreshment breaks included.

The course will take place on the Dothan Campus at 500 University Drive.

Cost is $177 per person and includes all materials and refreshments.

Cancellation Policy

Failure to attend does not constitute withdrawal. The Continuing Education Center must be notified directly. Withdrawal must be made by the registrant, in writing, at least three working days prior to the course’s beginning to receive a refund. Refunds will not be made available after this time. Courses are subject to cancellation based on insufficient enrollment. In the event a course is canceled, registrants will be notified and an appropriate refund will be made. Once the course begins, no refunds will be made.
