Benefits of having this approach include a diverse faculty and collaboration among students from different settings.
In 2014, the United States Department of Labor Statistics reported that demand for rehabilitation counselors is expected to grow 9 percent over the next 10 years. This need is due to an increase in the elderly population and the continued rehabilitation needs of veterans with disabilities.
TROY’s rehabilitation counseling graduate program has been awarded two $1,000,000 grants from the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). These grants will provide full tuition scholarships and stipends for approximately 100 students over the next five years for preparation in rehabilitation counseling. These scholarships will serve students pursuing TROY’s general master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling and students specializing in deaf/hard of hearing studies or clinical mental health services.
