A bachelor’s degree in psychology provides students with a useful foundation for further study at the graduate level, leading to various careers in psychology, or to study in the health professions and social work. The TROY program in psychology gives the student grounding in the study of human psychology from early development to adulthood, covering a variety of psychological concepts and theories, statistics, and research and analysis. Preparing the student for a career or graduate work in the psychological sciences, the TROY psychology program trains students in the fine art of understanding others.
Choosing TROY’s graduate program in counseling and psychology, offers specializations in clinical mental health, substance abuse, rehabilitation, social services, student affairs and school counseling and school psychometry. The mission of the Department of Counseling and Psychology is to educate, develop and train counseling and psychology professionals by utilizing the highest external standards set by state and national licensing/certifying boards. Counselor education faculty design and deliver counseling programs through a variety of instructional modalities. The counseling degree programs provide graduate education at regional and state locations. The program seeks students from diverse populations.
