At the top of the list: Forbes ranks TROY as state’s leading public university

Troy University has been ranked as a leading public institution of higher education by Forbes Magazine, which released in August the results of its annual college and university survey.

The survey, conducted jointly with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, included 600 institutions nationwide and based its rankings on student evaluations, graduates’ success, student debt loads, graduation rates and student and faculty national awards and scholarships.

TROY received the highest ranking of the Alabama public colleges and universities that were included in the survey.

Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor, called the external validation a reflection of the quality that exists within the University.

“To be singled out as the best public university in Alabama was great news to us,” he said. “We’ve worked hard over the years to take this bushel basket off the Troy University light and I think that sort of recognition helps us to do that because it’s very, very important that rest of the state and nation see the Troy University that we know exists.”
