Convocation and Groundbreaking

Aug. 10: Troy University will have its annual faculty/staff convocation on Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. in Claudia Crosby Theater. During this convocation, faculty and staff members will hear Chancellor Hawkins annual address and a faculty member will be awarded the Malone Award, the highest honor the University bestows on a faculty member.

At 11:15 a.m. the University will conduct its groundbreaking ceremony for the new Jack Hawkins Jr. College of Education building, on the site of Dill Hall, which was demolished last month.

Odyssey Convocation for freshmen

Aug. 12: The Odyssey New Student Convocation will be held Sunday, Aug. 12 at 3 p.m. in Trojan Arena. Odyssey represents the official start of the TROY experience for our entering class of 2007. The Odyssey address will be delivered by TROY alumna Jill Dobson Ornstein, a 1998 broadcast journalism graduate (summa cum laude), who is currently working as an entertainment correspondent with Fox News – New York.
