Beijing news conference update

EDITORS/NEWS DIRECTORS: We anticipate sending a news release with still photos and a link to b-roll of the event in the 10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. time frame on Thursday, Oct. 11.

This package will have one or two photos attached as jpeg and contain links to video b-roll (30 seconds worth of the signing, of Gov. Riley speaking, of Chancellor Hawkins speaking, and pans of the event for “pomp and circumstance.” A link to the media kit will also be included.

B-roll will be available for 48 hours after it is posted.

Recapping the event: Oct. 11: Gov. Bob Riley, Troy University and officials of the Peoples Republic of China will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. (Beijing time) at the Landmark Beijing Hotel, 8 North Dongsanhuan Road (Chaoyang District), Beijing 100004.

The news conference will announce the establishment of the Confucius Institute at Troy University on the campus of Troy University in partnership with Hebei Normal University of Science and Technology.

Russian University president visits Troy University

Oct. 22-25: Dr. Vladimir S. Danyushenkov, rector of Vyatka State Humanities University in Kirov, Russia will be at Troy University with various media availabilities.

On Oct. 25, Dr. Danyushenkov and Chancellor Hawkins will sign a formal agreement establishing an academic partnership between TROY and Vyatka State. This signing ceremony will be conducted at 10 a.m. in the General Academic Building Conference Room on the third floor. Both Dr. Danyushenkov and Dr. Hawkins will be available for interviews at this time.
