TROY – Troy University’s Spires Chapter of Mortar Board was named the Silver Torch Award recipient by its national organization for the third year in a row.
The award was presented to the chapter at the organization’s annual conference in Columbus, Ohio. TROY’s chapter was one of 51 Mortar Board chapters in the country to receive the award. Motor Board operates 223 chapters nationwide. The chapters are selected for their timeliness and dedication while exemplifying the ideals of scholarship, leadership and service.
Brenda Campbell, Mortar Board advisor at TROY, attributes the chapter’s success to the students.
“We always have good officers that keep things on the right path,” Campbell said.
Kaeitlin Hall, a senor biology major from Niceville, Fla., currently serves as president of the Spires Chapter of Mortar Board.
Mortar Board, Inc., is a national honor society of college seniors. The society recognizes in its membership the qualities of superior scholastic ability, outstanding and continual leadership, and dedicated service to the college or university community.
