Learn to Play the Piano in One Night at Troy University

Posted: Thursday, 10 January 2008

DOTHAN – Learn to play the piano instantly at Troy University. The Continuing Education Center will offer lessons Tuesday, February 5 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on the Dothan Campus. This non-credit class is for anyone who yearns to experience the joy of playing the piano, without years of weekly lessons.

Instructor David Haynes will teach students to play by reading chord symbols, instead of notes. This “shorthand” approach is musically correct and produces instant success. Haynes has shared this method during workshops at 170 colleges, 17 community programs and arts centers in 20 states. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education, along with a bachelor’s in German.

Students must be at least 16 years of age to sign up. Participants will leave the workshop with a manual and a practice CD. For more information or to register, contact the Troy University Continuing Education Center at 334-983-0005 or visit troy.edu.
