MEDIA ADVISORY: Chancellor Bradley Byrne to address student affairs professionals

Jan. 18, 10 a.m.: Two-year colleges Chancellor Bradley Byrne will deliver the keynote address to the Alabama NASPA Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education Conference at Troy University. The one-hour presentation will address the issue of integrity.

The address will begin at 10 a.m. in the Trojan Center Theatre on the Troy Campus, however, the program begins at 9:45 a.m. with welcomes and introductions. The Trojan Center Theatre is located within the Dorothy Adams Student Center. Limited reserved media parking will be available under the Trojan Center portico. Also, the loading dock area adjacent to the portico parking will be available for van/truck parking if needed. Additionally, parking is available in the North Parking Lot (off George Wallace Dr. and across from the fire station) and a special NASPA shuttle will be running. Media are requested to be in place by 9:45 a.m for Chancellor Byrne’s presentation.

A brief media availability has been scheduled immediately following Chancellor Byrne’s address. However, because of Chancellor Byrne’s schedule, this availability should last no more than 10 minutes. It will be conducted in the student lounge adjacent to the theatre on the second floor of the Trojan Center.

Pilot program awarded to TROY

Jan. 18: The American Association of State Colleges and Universities has made Troy University one of three universities in the country to participate in a pilot program for its Grants Resource Center. This program will provide notifications of grant opportunities to faculty members. Director of Sponsored Programs Judy Fulmer, who oversees the University’s grant process, will be available after 11:30 a.m. Friday for interviews. A news release is forthcoming on the subject.
